Symbiosis is an ongoing collaboration between abstract painter Sharon Cannon and photographer Don Saban. Each work begins with one of Cannon's richly textured oil paintings, into which Saban digitally merges a photographic image from his archive. The result is not a simple overlay, but a seamless visual fusion--where painting and photography intertwine and transform each other.
